Notes: Had to do lunges in place b/c there were P90X folks working out in the open area of the gym – doing Yoga…yes…Yoga… Did this with Tom and Andy at work, Tom got 13:40, Andy 15:35 w/ 35 lbs, so overall happy with this.

So went a little (okay, way) over on fat blocks today. I made the mistake of not checking www.nutritiondata.com before I ate the pumpkin seeds. I could have sworn that 1 oz was like 3 blocks tops, so 2 oz coming out to 16 was pretty surprising.
I’m definitely concerned about eating this much fat right now while I’m still trying to cut weight. If I was just going for ketosis, it wouldn’t be that big a deal, but while I would still potentially consider this “low carb”, I don’t think I’m anywhere near ketosis, so eating some carbs with this much fat should theoretically lead to weight gain in the worst case, but best case staying at my current weight.
This is the great thing about tracking your diet: you have data on inputs and outputs. So I’m just going to keep track of my weight, intake, and WOD performance, and just tweak accordingly.

Notes: Did this one with Jon M. who got some ridiculous score, every round in the mid to low 40s. All the rows were between 21-25, so thrusters were the big determining factor.

As far as the food situation today, I’m pretty happy with this. I went over my fat blocks by 9, but I was fiending for food after that WOD, and still a little hungry at my last meal. I still need to lose body fat, so I’m not going to go anywhere near 2x to 5x fat (yet…), but if I’m hungry and I don’t think it’s because of too much protein or too much carb, I’m going to throw a little extra fat in. I’ll just keep being honest on my food log and my body weight and see how it goes.
20090127 Rest Day/Meals
You should be taking fish oil. I take 9-12 of the soft gels per day.
Enjoyed the rest day, plenty of snow in DC so me and Jenn skipped work – and sat at home and worked all day.

A little low on carbs today, but feeling fine. Probably not a big deal b/c of it being a rest day.

Notes: KTE was what slowed me down. I even did kipping. Sumo’s got a lot easier once I started keeping my butt a little higher. DU’s got easier as it went along, I just focus better on my form and timing when I get tired.

Was just really hungry at the end of the day, so needed some more food and figured added fat blocks where the way to go. That’s two days in a row where I needed more chow, but I haven’t leaned out to anywhere near single digits yet. Going to try to get back to 17 blocks strict tomorrow and it’s a rest day so hopefully it will be a little easier.
